Meet Parisian artist extraordinaire Miaous B, a photographer from Villiers-le-Bel whose work is deeply shaped by his personal experiences, community, and perspective of the world. Growing up in a multicultural community where different people and cultures naturally came together led to a sense of creative openness that continues to influence his work today. That foundation, coupled with extensive travels, has further expanded his perspective, sharpened his photographic eye, and inspired him to capture moments in a way that is uniquely his own.
Creatively influenced by talented artists such as Chi Modu and Estevan Oriol, Miaous draws much of his inspiration from the people around him. His signature style is black-and-white photography—a visual language that strips an image down to its simplest form, allowing the emotion, details, and story within each photograph to take center stage. For Miaous, every image can tell a different story depending on who is looking.
What he loves most about photography is the connection it creates: meeting new people, hearing their stories, and experiencing the world through their eyes. As a Black photographer, he is proud of his identity but does not want to be defined solely by it. His goal is to be recognized for his vision and talent, grounded in the belief that “art has no color, and everyone should be valued for their true worth.” In many ways, that philosophy is reflected directly in his black-and-white aesthetic—by removing color from the image, he creates space to illuminate something deeper: human connection.

His proximity to culturally rich communities of the Paris region like —Sarcelles and Saint-Denis to Château Rouge and Strasbourg Saint-Denis—has given him a unique perspective on the intersection of African and Caribbean culture, commerce, beauty, and community.
For Miaous, Black brilliance is "motivation, elevation, hard work, respect, and the elegance of culture through knowledge"—a philosophy undoubtedly reflected in his art. His work stands apart through its intention, authenticity, and commitment to capturing the genuine spirit of his community. By eliminating color, both literally and figuratively, Miaous invites us to look beyond the surface and connect with something much deeper.
